Information Submitted Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that produces results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services maintain normal server-log information, including IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review it in aggregate to maintain the service and understand use of its pages. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
We use this information to operate the reference, address technical problems, measure traffic, and improve content. Visitor lists are not sold, and we do not create individual visitor profiles.
Outside Websites
County and state portals, library collections, archives, and search providers linked here follow their own privacy terms. Those terms control any information submitted after leaving this reference, including information entered into sponsored results.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process server logs for this reference. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information when required by valid legal process and not otherwise.
Safeguards and Retention
The reference uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. There are no user accounts, so no site password or user profile is maintained here.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information, and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Requests
Depending on residence and applicable law, visitors may have rights concerning personal data a website holds. New Jersey’s Data Privacy Act is P.L. 2023, c.266, codified at N.J.S.A. 56:8-166.4 et seq. The research does not establish a universal deletion or opt-out process for this reference, so requests are evaluated under applicable law. Because we retain little, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs, then removing applicable information. Use the Contact page. Records held by a New Jersey state, county, or municipal custodian are outside our control; access requests for agency records follow the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., and the custodian's procedures.
Policy Changes
Changes to this policy will appear here. Continued use following an update means acceptance of the revised policy.
